Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council has become the latest Welsh Local Authority to join the APPWales platform bringing the number of active members to 6 Authorities. The APPWales platform is a shared eProcurement platform designed to encourage and facilitate standardisation and further collaboration in procurement throughout the Welsh Public Sector. The scalable APPWales platform initially went live in January 2008 with the original five Local Authorities of Cardiff, Swansea, Torfaen, Pembrokeshire and Rhondda Cynon Taff and now has 10637 suppliers, 2554 contracts and 237 active tender exercises with a combined spend of £7.1bn being managed through the system.
