Nottinghamshire Councils Sign Up to PROACTIS Shared Procurement Service
PROACTIS, the spend control and eProcurement specialist, today announced it is to provide a shared strategic procurement service to eight Nottinghamshire councils which will streamline the authorities' sourcing, contract and supplier management.
Nottingham City Council has already been using PROACTIS for a number of years to reduce the administrative time and effort involved their procurement processes by streamlining the supplier lifecycle and simplifying the management of contracts. The system will be extended to seven other councils in the Nottinghamshire region, enabling them to achieve similar efficiency improvements and cost savings.
While each council will operate independently with their own version of the software containing their authority's contract and supplier information, they will also be linked into a Nottinghamshire-wide shared service. This will allow the councils to share information on supplier and contract performance, and where appropriate, collaborate on joint sourcing initiatives to leverage buying power and gain best value.
A self-service supplier portal will move the administrative responsibility of maintaining supplier records onto the suppliers themselves and provide a channel for suppliers and buyers to interact electronically throughout the sourcing process.
This project is the third of its kind for PROACTIS who provides shared strategic procurement platforms to 22 local authorities in Yorkshire & Humber and six Welsh councils.
