Rio Tinto Extends PROACTIS Purchasing Solution

Leading mining and exploration company extends PROACTIS purchase-to-pay project with document scanning, employee expenses and purchasing cards, via PROACTIS partner, Eclipse Computing.

Having taken the PROACTIS purchasing solution in 2009 to control indirect spend at its Simandou mining project in Guinea, Rio Tinto has now expanded its PROACTIS eProcurement solution to include document scanning, purchasing cards and employee expenses.

  • Document Scanning: Lowers administration costs by replacing the traditional paper trail associated with authorisation with automated invoice matching. It also integrates seamlessly with third party solutions and provides full traceability.
  • Purchasing Cards: Enables electronic payment of corporate purchasing cards; introducing a tight control mechanism to prevent and monitor any card misuse, as well as reducing paperwork.
  • Employee Expenses: Provides control of "after-the-event" purchase claims, giving employees visibility of the claim throughout the process and ensuring the organisation has fuller analysis of administrative spend. It also integrates easily with existing Financial and Payroll software.
