News Facts

  • PROACTIS today announced that one of the world's leading engineering and design consultancies, Atkins, has implemented its eProcurement solution to manage the IT procurement process.
  • Atkins is ranked as one of the top 10 firms in the United States (ENR 2011) and is the UK's largest engineering consultancy, with over 17,000 employees and 300 offices worldwide.
  • Making correct purchasing decisions and ensuring maximum return on investment in IT can be complex. The UK division of Atkins has implemented PROACTIS to address this challenge and simplify and control IT procurement.
  • PROACTIS manages the purchasing cycle from requisition through to order creation, approval and goods/services receipt for all types of IT purchases: hardware, operating system software, system management services and telecommunications equipment and services etc.
  • Atkins implemented PROACTIS as a strategic extension to their JD Edwards ERP. It is leveraging PROACTIS' unique capabilities such as:
  • Simple, user friendly interface for employees, managers and administrators - limited requirement for training
  • Ease of configuration - offloads IT burden
  • Punch-out to enable users to select items directly from approved online supplier catalogues - offloads administrative burden
  • A key objective for Atkins was to gain visibility of IT spend data. With PROACTIS now in place and collating information on all purchases, Atkins can review how much they are spending, on what items and with which suppliers, which will help them to improve their contractual agreements.
